State-of-the-Art and Future Perspectives of Environmentally Friendly Machining Using Biodegradable Cutting Fluids

The use of cutting fluids has played a vital role in machining operations lubrication and cooling. Most are mineral oil-based products that hazardous to the environment worker, cause severe diseases pollute environment. In addition, petroleum resources becoming increasingly unsustainable. Due environmental health issues, legislations have been established ensure consumption oil is reduced. Consequently, researchers making efforts replace these products. Vegetable oils grasping attention due their better lubricating properties, ease availability, biodegradability, low prices, non-toxicity. this study, detailed review critical analysis conducted research works involving vegetable as keeping view shortcomings possible solutions overcome drawbacks. purpose emphasise benefits exhibiting comparable performance an appropriate selection non-edible along with optimum parameters avoid scanty supply edible also discussed. According research, capable substituting synthetic fluids, option might aid successful cost-efficient implementation green machining.
